A message from Mrs MacKechnie

Welcome to our school website. I am very proud to be able to share with you the range of opportunities and current developments at Kirklandneuk Primary School.

Here in our vibrant school, the children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve endless possibilities. We strive to be Kind, Positive Superstars.

As a PATHS School where we promote children’s emotional intelligence and self-esteem, we recognise the need for emotional connection and positivity - now more than ever. The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities which are provided for them are relevant to their needs - both now and in the future.

We are the first school in Renfrewshire Council to have received national accreditation for our work on Nurture from ‘Nurture UK’, having received the National Nurturing Schools Award in 2019.

Kirklandneuk Primary School uses the PATHS® Programme with all pupils in P1-7. This is designed to help develop self-control, emotional awareness and interpersonal skills through progressive lessons which enhance  social competence and social understanding. The PATHS® Programme has been adapted for UK schools by Barnardo’s. Kirklandneuk is proud to have been awarded PATHS Model School Status in June 2021.
Parents can find out more about the programme by visiting the PATHS website at: http://www.pathseducation.co.uk/

With our dedicated team who work hard to reach high standards in everything we do, our positive relationships with parents and the local community provides our children with the very best start. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child's education; we value your interest and support.

I hope you find our website useful and informative.

Karen MacKechnie

A WELCOME FROM OUR HEAD PUPILS and DEPUTE HEAD PUPILS

As the Head Pupils and Depute Head Pupils at Kirklandneuk Primary School, it is our job to do quite a few things. Every week, we meet with our Head Teacher, Mrs MacKechnie to discuss our next jobs. These jobs could be showing visitors around, running a school raffle, distributing information to classes or coming up with ideas for our school.
Throughout our time at Kirklandneuk, we have tried our best to be model students and this has landed us here!
Kirklandneuk is a very nurturing school. The pupils and staff are always showing our school values which are Kindness, Positivity and Safety.
Thank you for reading this and have a lovely day!
